FAQ on Pupil Attire

1. Why must a girl button the top button of her school blouse while the boys do not need to?

The girl’s formal school blouse has a Peter Pan collar and the top button should be buttoned up.

2. Can a girl wear PE shorts throughout the school day and not change into her culottes after PE lessons?

For modesty reasons, the Primary 3 to 6 girls have to put on their culottes at all times other than during PE lessons.

3. If a girl does not want to wear the sleeveless PE T-shirt throughout the school day, can she wear a jacket over it?

Pupils can put on jackets / sweaters when the weather is cool. On warm days, they should not put on their jackets / sweaters for personal hygiene reasons. The pupils can change out of their PE attire into the formal uniform if they do not want to remain in their PE T-shirts.

4. Can the name tags be positioned above the school logo on both formal uniform and PE T-shirts?

For uniformity, we want all pupils to position their name tags according to the prescribed guidelines.

Please click on Prescribed Guidelines for Name Tag Position.

5. If the name tags have already been sewn on the school uniform / PE T-shirts before the school’s prescribed guidelines were given, must the name tags be repositioned?

As this is the first time the school has prescribed guidelines for the position of name tags, there is no need to reposition the name tags if they have already been sewn on. However, for newly purchased uniform / PE T-shirts, please follow the school’s prescribed guidelines.

FAQs on Pupil Matters

1. If pupils have disputes, should a parent represent his/her child to approach the other pupil/s to resolve the conflict?

Parents should not approach any of our pupils to resolve pupils’ conflicts. Parents should approach their children’s form teacher/subject teachers for assistance.

2. If a pupil has lost his/her personal belongings or money in school, can the school help to retrieve the lost items or money?

Please approach the pupil’s form teacher/subject teachers for assistance. The school will check on the matter and get back to the pupil/parents. However, there may be instances when the lost items or money cannot be retrieved.

Therefore it is important for us to work together to educate every pupil to exercise self-responsibility in managing his/her own personal belongings.

3. Can a parent / guardian celebrate his/her child’s/ward's birthday in school?

We do not encourage celebration of birthdays in school because

·         Curriculum time must be protected for quality instruction; and

·         Other pupils may have dietary restrictions, e.g. food allergies.
